there are a whole bunch of badly drawn games i’ve been meaning to write about. but first up is the cool ‘crayon physics’. the deluxe version is underway and should be very cool - the current one is a bit limited. but really fantastic for a game written in a week.

well the toon themed photo comp didn’t get many entries 
Daedalus Young won the prize for best entry made with the toon studio. it was also the only entry made with the toon studio, but hey.
here is the pic of me handing over the prize cheque for 500L$. i really did give him the cheque too.
finally, running an event in SL.
Osprey Therian has a SL toon studio on the roof of her photo studio in grignano - and we’ll be running a class to demonstrate how easy it is to create your own toons and comix using it. wednesday at 2pm SL time. see here.

nothing much happens for ages, then lots happens at the same time
while i was working on the toon studio, a reporter from the new grid-world news dropped by and asked me for an interview. this was published a few days ago here. somehow in the interview i wasn’t sure if i came across all mercenary and what-not, but its pretty nice about me and my doodles.
the sl toon studio (see previous post) has started to get a few mentions in the blogs…
Osprey has written about it on SLGames (see previous post), but also has a great pic of the sl toon studio set on the roof of her photography studio in Grignano posted on Atomic Raygun.
the rules for the current photo-competition have also been posted on the Second Life art news blog.
then the studio was also spotted by an intrepid second life insider reporter, who said nice things about it.
and i’ve somehow gathered a total of 4 mentions on japanese blog slrank. i have no idea what they said about anything, but presumably they quite liked what they saw. anyone know if there’s a japanese version of xytext? if there is such a thing, i’ll see if i can do a japanese version

also, really pleased to announce that Osprey Therian has reviewed it here, and has also made comics the theme of this months sl photography contest. so a big yay for Osprey.

been very very busy even. keep forgetting to set bloghud passwords properly, can never find the instructions and the last attempt to use it to post failed. but… i will post again this week. with news!

i appear to be getting increasingly famous amongst academic types. stephen downes included a pic of the doodle draw in a recent presentation - more later when he puts the slides online. and a couple of months back, aleks krotoski needed to use a profile page to illustrate the use of ratings to indicate reputation in sl.
i was surprised and honoured to learn that she used my profile!
